We are seeking a highly skilled Fire and Security Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, our mission is to reimagine the performance of buildings to serve people, places, and the planet.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, completes assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of fire / security systems per contract obligations.
  • Assists experienced personnel with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems.
  • Assists in performing required commissioning documentation and provides accurate information for as-builts documentation.
  • Adheres to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Maintains appropriate local and National Fire / Security Industry Certifications.
  • Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site, and continuously interacts with customers to understand their needs and wants.
  • Assists in monitoring project execution per plan and reports problems or changes to supervisor or management.
  • Completes paperwork and on-site documentation as required.
  • Performs self-study to obtain technical proficiency on required products and application.

What We Look for in a Candidate:

  • High school diploma plus one year experience in installing fire or security systems is required.
  • Electronics certification from accredited technical school / military electronics training desired.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to explain technical information to non-technical people.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICET Level I Certification.
  • Prior experience within the Fire/ Security industry with basic knowledge and understanding of Fire/ Security systems, database structure, network configuration and analysis.
