About the Role

Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Saint Peter Apartments. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of appliances, fixtures, and equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address any maintenance issues
  • Assist in the preparation of units for new move-ins, including cleaning and minor repairs
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure the longevity of our properties
  • Collaborate with the Community Manager to oversee maintenance contracts, schedule contracted work, and complete capital expense projects
  • Participate in 24/7 emergency maintenance coverage on a rotating schedule

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, and HVAC systems
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Current driver's license

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to pass annual lift test. Moderate effort in lifting, moving, operating equipment, standing, and climbing/walking. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, dust and dirt. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasional exposure to heat, cold, fumes, odor, and noise. Seldom exposed to dryness, wetness, vibration, and poor ventilation.
