Production Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Simmons Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading a team of front-line employees to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of production employees to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in processing and/or the development of a product or a service
- Maintain inventory records and requisition ingredients and/or supplies as necessary to meet delivery schedules
- Evaluate materials and products to maintain organizational standards and confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments
- Manage and utilize various production reports to review daily production against customer requirements and meet production requirements while maintaining appropriate line speeds and efficiency
- Emphasize a safe work environment and promote a safe work environment as well as meet safety requirements complying with all policies or regulations set forth by Simmons, OSHA, and various government agencies
- Create a continuous improvement culture and foster a continuous improvement culture for direct reports
- Apply LEAN concepts and procedures to the day-to-day production operations and accomplish quality performance which meets or exceeds all line, department, facility, company, and USDA/FDA guidelines or grading process for a total quality program and customer relations
- Communicate at all levels to meet production expectations and collaborate with the functional areas of operations such as Human Resources, Safety, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Finance, Shipping and others
- Manage employees and direct and supervise employees' work activities and monitor work performance
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years related work experience with a minimum of 1 year experience in a leading role included in the 4 years related work experience
- Preferred experience within a food processing organization
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource management, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Must be familiar with computers and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Must be able to work in various temperatures and move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property. May travel to other local facilities.
