Job Summary

Maine Medical Center - Portland is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Respiratory Therapy department. As a Critical Care Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our intensive care units.

Responsibilities
  • Certification and Licensure
    • Current BLS certification is required, ACLS certification is preferred, and NRP certification for NICU RRT is required.
  • Job Details
    • This is a full-time position with 36 hours of guaranteed weekly hours.
    • The shift is 7AM-7:30PM, with 36 hours of weekend hours (unless otherwise noted).
    • Call requirements include 2 hours of oncoming shift coverage.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
    • Float requirements include experience in NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, and ED, as well as adult acute and critical care.
  • Schedule and Unit Information
    • The unit has a varied number of beds, depending on daily assignments, and covers the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs.
    • Patient ratios are 1:25 in acute care and 1:8 in critical care.
    • The unit uses a variety of equipment, including Drager V500 and VN500 vents, Hamilton T1 and C1 vents, respironics V30 and V60 vents, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm.
    • The electronic medical record system used is EPIC.
    • Must-have skills and experience include tertiary and teaching hospital experience, as well as level 1 trauma experience.
    • Preferred skillset and experience include NICU/PICU cardiothoracic experience.
    • The unit cares for a varied patient population.
    • A flexible and team-oriented personality is required, with excellent communication skills.
    • The dress code is scrubs, with provided or flexible scrub color options.
