Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and accession cases or specimens, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Document and track cases or specimens requiring special handling, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Perform complex set-ups of slides/specimens for clinical testing, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare reagents and sterile supplies as needed, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Operate instrumentation/equipment according to specific protocols, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Perform inventory of supplies/reagents, restocking consumable items as necessary to support the next work shift.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Train other employees, students, and/or fellows as needed, following established checklists during the training period.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience in a clinical medical laboratory or similar setting. A preferred degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
