The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the daily functioning of the healthcare needs of residents as well as supervision of the nursing department. Responsibilities
  • Oversee medical and health service activities and personnel
  • Plan and coordinate health services
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to implement appropriate healthcare programs
  • Maintain a clean environment to ensure patient safety
  • Establish, train and enforce healthcare policies and procedures
  • Assure fiscal accountability within nursing department
  • Foster team unity and a cohesive approach
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner
  • Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents' rights
Requirements
  • At least two or more years prior experience in Long Term Care setting
  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Possess strong leadership qualities
  • Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public
  • Must meet all health requirements
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly while recognizing that the community is the residents' home
  • Have strong organizational and team building skills
  • Have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Have ability to work a flexible schedule
