We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Intern to join our team at the City of Shafter, CA. As a GIS Intern, you will provide technical assistance and support for various hardware, software, and GIS-related systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for GIS-related systems, including troubleshooting, installation, and upgrades.
- Assist in editing datasets using desktop software and Nearmap imagery service.
- Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
- Assist in updating and enhancing printed paper maps at various locations.
- Assist in field data collection for various datasets.
- Conduct regular maintenance on GIS equipment, such as RTK bridge and drones.
- Maintain open communication and a positive working relationship with staff.
- Perform duties of a disaster services worker in the event of an emergency.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current college/university student in the field of Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, or related field of study.
- Valid California Class C driver's license with a good driving record.
