GIS Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Intern to join our team at the City of Shafter. As a GIS Intern, you will provide technical assistance and support for various hardware, software, and GIS-related systems.

• Provide technical assistance and support for hardware, software, and GIS-related systems
• Perform basic troubleshooting, installation, and upgrades for devices
• Respond to and resolve user service requests via the Service Management application
• Support PC hardware, desktop operating systems, and application software
• Assist with GIS-specific tasks such as editing datasets, updating printed maps, and collecting field data

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current college/university student in the field of Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, or related field of study
• Valid California Class C driver's license with a good driving record

This is a part-time temporary appointment, limited to working less than 1000 hours in a fiscal year. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing priorities.
