Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Engineer Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll be responsible for designing, maintaining, implementing, and improving electrical systems for industrial purposes. You'll ensure that electrical installations and upgrades conform to industry standards and oversee external maintenance contractors while on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, layout, install, program, and troubleshoot electrical controls and equipment, including PLC's, Motion Control Devices, Vision Systems, VFD's, Servos, and HMI's.
  • Work from complicated drawings, specifications, or wiring diagrams and have hands-on knowledge of electrical systems and electronics.
  • Create specifications for electrical systems and wiring diagrams for associated automation controls systems and equipment.
  • Support and troubleshoot equipment currently used within the facility.
  • Observe, correct, and report any issues with production and facility equipment.
  • Assist and execute the performance of Preventative Maintenance of facility infrastructure.
  • Work safely with chemicals, tools, and materials.
  • Take initiative and work independently on solving problems.
  • Work closely with Production, Administration, and Engineering teams, respond to spills, breakdowns, extraction calls, and environmental issues.
  • Work with the team to install, upgrade, or make improvements to equipment and automation processes.
  • Take initiative within proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals.
  • Comply with all safety practices and procedures and report all unsafe activities.
  • Assist in writing safety procedures.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and relevant training/certification within Skilled trades and Equipment Maintenance.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a maintenance electrician in a manufacturing environment and proficiency with PLC and other electronics equipment.
  • OSHA certifications related to man-lift/scissor lift safety are a plus.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Basic use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and e-mail skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail is mandatory.
  • Ability to take direction, willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Ability to adapt to ongoing change.

  • Frequent talking, hearing, and visual observation.
  • Frequent use of hands to grasp, handle, or feel.
  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, and reaching; must be able to stand up to 8-10 hours a day.
  • Regular stooping, kneeling, crouching.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds; occasional team lifting of up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasional climbing, typically on a stepladder.

  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).
  • Ability to focus (ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
Work Environment

The work environment for this job is:

  • Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
  • Majority of the work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise level and varying temperature control.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment including slip and spill-resistant shoes as well as protective eyewear when in production areas.
