Job Summary

Reach DANE is seeking a reliable and caring Transportation Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and enjoyable transportation experience for children on our bus routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily pick-up and delivery of children on designated bus routes
  • Provide a developmentally appropriate transportation experience for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Ensure all children are safely boarded, ride, and exit the bus
  • Maintain the interior of assigned buses to guarantee a clean and sanitary environment for passengers
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and respect towards all cultures and individuals
  • Participate in required bus aide training and professional development
  • Work effectively with low-income, multicultural families and individuals with disabilities
  • Obtain Pediatric CPR certification within 6 months of employment
  • Maintain knowledge of basic first aid principles

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Successfully pass the Caregiver Background Check
  • Successfully pass a physical examination, verifying the employee is free from communicable diseases and physically able to perform required job responsibilities
  • Ability to lift and/or restrain children of varying levels and sizes
  • Physical dexterity, coordination, mobility, visual acuity, and emotional health to perform essential job functions
