Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality patient care under the supervision and direction of a DVM, including laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
  • Client Communication: Maintain excellent client communication, answering questions and providing information on basic animal care and routine procedures.
  • Medical Records: Accurately record all pertinent medical, client, and case-related information in the patient record.
  • Team Support: Provide guidance and support to the support staff to ensure a smooth shift operation.
  • Performance Evaluations: Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Some veterinary industry experience required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations.
  • Certifications: Ability to give SQ, IM, and IV injections, and knowledge of prescription drugs and their common side effects.
