Janitorial Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Janitorial Supervisor to join our team at the VA Medical Center in Omaha, NE. As a Janitorial Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility, as well as providing guidance and HR services to janitorial staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure staff are properly trained on cleaning procedures and safety protocols
  • Verify janitorial staff are up to date on annual trainings and requirements
  • Communicate with VA Medical Center staff to address any cleaning-related concerns or requests
  • Provide HR services to janitorial staff, including addressing any performance issues or conflicts
  • Act as the point of contact for HAZMAT and Hazardous waste monitoring, ensuring floor staff are properly trained on how to handle hazardous material waste and containers

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • Proven experience in janitorial or custodial services preferably in a medical setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety protocols
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
