Job Summary

The Area Director, Operations Support provides leadership, oversight, and coordination to the Area's operational plan, goals, and major initiatives.

This role works closely with field operations to ensure durability of standards and processes, providing expertise in functional areas such as fleet and equipment maintenance, environmental compliance, and safety.

The successful candidate will play an essential role in building the capability of the field teams to consistently execute on business plans and budgets, ensuring an optimal customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides expertise, analysis, input, information, and actions to improve operations performance.
  • Champions and supports all Republic programs, with oversight of the Area Safety Director, Area Operations Manager, and other key roles.
  • Works closely with the Director of Operations to improve the performance of Supervisors, Operations Managers, and General Managers.
  • Identifies favorable and unfavorable trends and opportunities to reduce operating cost across the Area.
  • Directs and coordinates operations programs, including Blue Crew, emergency response, and disaster recovery efforts.
Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of experience in the waste industry or a related industry, with significant exposure to collection/hauling operations.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, with oversight of operations and P&L responsibility.
