Patient Care Support Specialist

Wood County Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our esteemed Pain Management Department. The Patient Care Technician is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of a physician, registered nurse, or licensed practical nurse. This role also involves ensuring a safe and hygienic environment while performing assigned clerical and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients and accurately document their status.
- Assist with and document activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Maintain cleanliness by changing bed linens and organizing patient rooms; provide additional linens and safeguard personal belongings as necessary.
- Facilitate patient transportation.
- Ensure proper documentation regarding the setup, use, adjustment, application, discontinuation, and cleaning of patient care equipment.
Shift Information:
Hours: 16 hours per week
Shift: Day Shift
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Completion of a nurse aide program or relevant experience in providing nurse aide duties, including ADLs, bed changes, patient transfers, vital sign monitoring, blood sugar testing, and personal hygiene assistance. A combination of education and experience will be evaluated for this position.
Required Certification:
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification.
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
- STNA, Medical Assistant, or CNA.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patient care.
