We are seeking a highly skilled Paint Maintenance Technician to join our team at SMP Automotive Systems Alabama Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnosing equipment failures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and equipment, including robots, hydraulic presses, and mechanical presses.
- Provide mechanical and electrical support to ensure smooth operation of machinery.
- Move, align, level, and install machinery as needed.
- Record machine maintenance information and perform data analysis.
- Troubleshoot and program PLCs, as well as install and maintain PMC or other maintenance-specific database software.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or as needed to support the team.
- Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings or structures.
- Knowledge of relevant safety equipment, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of the structure and function of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Maintenance systems and procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, blueprint reading, electrical schematics reading, arc welding, gas welding, and cutting.
- Basic knowledge of PLC and robotics.
- Strong understanding of industrial maintenance safety and best practices and ability to adhere to them.
- Able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiar with OSHA standards.
- 80 hours of PTO and 32 hours of unplanned PTO (sick) time per year.
