Job Summary

The Registered Nurse for the Resource Unit will operate in a float pool designated to supplement staff in hospital work areas with identified staffing requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process to facilitate the delivery of care.
  • Partner with Licensed Practical Nurses, and Nursing Assistants in the delivery of nursing care.
  • Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the Registered Nurse as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction.
  • Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
  • Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • English Language Proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN.
Working Conditions

The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders; Emotional and Mental Stability: The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs.
