Medical Oncology Care Unit Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Oncology Care Unit team at ECHN. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from the Emergency Department to our inpatient care units.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate admissions and bed control activity to ensure efficient patient flow
- Review clinical information from outside referral sources to determine appropriateness of admission and coordinate unit placement
- Initiate the nursing admission process, including physical assessment, interview, and documentation
- Collaborate with the admitting provider to ensure accurate and complete admission documentation
- Promote quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction through effective communication and customer service skills
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut
- Bachelor's degree required; certification highly desirable
- Five years of RN experience required; six months of experience at ECHN in the role of an RN highly preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and De-escalation Training certification required
