Job Overview

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall goals of the finance department by utilizing sound accounting practices to manage transactions, perform account reconciliations, and analyze financial data while maintaining precise records to support the operational units.

Compensation

Salary range: $50k-$65k. This role is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance a few days each week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and precise processing of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and uphold comprehensive documentation for all transactions and journal entries.
  • Engage in monthly general ledger closing and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts at the end of each month.
  • Contribute to the annual physical inventory or cycle counting activities.
  • Assist with the annual audit conducted by external accounting firms.
  • Calculate and file sales and use taxes accurately.
  • Focus on continuous improvement initiatives, emphasizing the reduction and elimination of waste.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and lookup functions).
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience (internships may be considered).
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
