Job Title: Structures Engineer

At Avcon, we are seeking a highly skilled Structures Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our structures group, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of structural plans for public and commercial buildings, bridges, retaining walls, and other infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design elements to complete a project, component, or system with other team members.
  • Prepare complete project documentation, including plans, specifications, and engineer estimates.
  • Evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to project assignments.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work, working on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
  • Receive direction on key objectives and guidance on unconventional or complex programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering field.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge with AutoCAD or Civil3D.
  • Working knowledge with Revit, preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

Working Environment:

Work usually takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. Site visits may occasionally take place in an outdoor environment.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
