Position Overview:
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) play a crucial role in the direct application of behavior intervention strategies for individuals with special needs and behavioral challenges. RBTs will engage in one-on-one interactions with clients in various environments, including home, school, and community settings, as determined by caregivers and the supervising behavior analyst (BCBA). They will receive comprehensive training and ongoing supervision from the case supervisor. Typical programming for clients includes the reduction of challenging behaviors (e.g., non-compliance, aggression, self-injury, elopement) and the teaching of specific pro-social skills (e.g., adaptive behaviors, communication skills, social interactions). RBTs will not begin working with clients until they have completed formal training on the implementation of all programming and methods for collecting behavioral data.
Job Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should possess experience working directly with individuals with special needs and/or children, a strong willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in applied behavior analysis (ABA).
To qualify as an RBT, candidates must complete a 40-hour RBT training course (self-paced, online) and successfully pass the RBT examination. The Behavior Doc will facilitate access to the necessary training and will cover all associated costs for the exam upon hiring, should an individual start working with the agency without the RBT certification.
Education Requirements:
A GED or high school diploma is required, while a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
CPR Certification is required, or candidates must be willing to obtain CPR certification upon hire.
Position Type:
This is a part-time hourly position, primarily in the afternoons (3-6 PM), with the potential for transitioning to full-time employment.
