About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our Blood Bank Department at Methodist Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform specimen processing and testing independently to include moderate and high complexity testing.
- Assume accountability for accurate test results and maintain complicated instruments.
- Monitor quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Anticipate and evaluate the need for new methods, instrumentation, and technology to improve customer satisfaction and revenue generation.
- Act as a resource to customers within and outside the department, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Manage assigned projects, developing plans, coordinating resources, and completing projects within established time limits.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with 15 years of clinical lab experience, or an Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Clinical Lab setting, or a Bachelor's Degree with clinical lab experience preferred.
- One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT).
