As a key member of the ASRC Federal Holding Company team, you will be responsible for providing financial planning and analysis support to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO).
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting monthly reporting for assigned general ledgers, including research, analysis, and reconciliation, and making recommendations for resolution of issues.
- Reconciling populations in the Oracle Accounting System to the legacy accounting system and performing reconciliation of outstanding receivables transactions against the general ledger accounts.
- Interviewing key stakeholders, reviewing existing process documentation, and current "as is" and "to be" documentation for processing financial transactions.
- Analyzing transactions for compliance with TRM guidance, including appropriate attributes.
- Analyzing trial balance files for compliance with Treasury Tie Points.
- Supporting the OCFO in areas of audit readiness, audit response, and management, and accounting advisory services.
- Assisting with the planning and execution of corrective action plans.
- Documenting clients' current and future processes both graphically and with written text.
- Supporting the development of methodologies to address specific financial management issues.
- Proactively building relationships and communicating effectively with the client to provide superior client service.
- Assisting in the analysis, research, and support of technical accounting issues.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree plus 2-4 years' relevant experience.
- Experience with audit readiness support, audit finding remediation, internal controls, and financial planning and analysis.
- Experience with/knowledge of U.S. federal financial regulations.
- Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and groups, while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Highly organized and punctual.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a high-paced working environment.
- Ability to understand and prioritize customer needs.
- Skill in using discretion and tact when dealing with all levels of seniority.
- Ability to initiate action independently after having been given general guidance/direction.
- Ability to adapt well to change.
The successful candidate will join a team of civil servants and contractors at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). The OCFO is responsible for the financial leadership of NOAA and its primary duty is to uphold strong financial management and accountability while providing timely, accurate, and reliable financial information and enhancing internal control.
