Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Project Engineer, you will oversee the design and preparation of engineering construction documentation, specifications, and details for multiple projects. Your technical expertise will be essential in both internal and external meetings, where you will provide insights based on research and experience. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting civil engineers in daily project planning, coordination, and execution under the guidance of a project manager.
  • Conducting research on design criteria based on project scope and regulatory requirements.
  • Creating site design construction documents, including layouts, grading, stormwater management, roadways, and utility configurations using Civil 3D.
  • Performing calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Conducting field visits to gather necessary data for project development.
  • Documenting calculations thoroughly and accurately.
  • Preparing site investigation and due diligence reports.
  • Comparing design alternatives and documenting findings to produce comprehensive civil engineering studies and reports.
  • Reviewing and revising technical and civil engineering drawings as needed.
  • Proposing continuous improvement solutions for site designs.
  • Participating in client meetings to discuss project progress and requirements.
  • Supporting internal department managers with cost estimates and design concepts.
  • Mentoring junior team members and providing project direction.
  • Fostering a positive work environment through motivation, coaching, and training.
  • Performing other project-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to inspire and mentor a team effectively.
