Job Summary:

Takes x-ray exposures of patients as requested by referring physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. Reviews medical history and confirms patient consent for contrast media as needed. Processes film and inspects images to ensure they meet radiologist requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients, confirm image requirements, and explain x-ray procedures.
  • Review patient medical history and confirm consent for contrast media.
  • Takes x-ray exposures following established protocols for position, radiation intensity, and exposure time.
  • Processes film and inspects images for quality and accuracy.
  • Maintains equipment, examination rooms, and inventory of related supplies.
  • Prepares patient information files and submits reports on x-ray procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of formal training in radiologic technology.
  • Radiologic Technologist License (Maryland) and Certification required.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
  • Proficiency in applicable computer software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a radiologic technologist, including on-the-job training and internships.
