We are seeking an experienced HVAC Superintendent to join our team at the Romanoff Group of Companies. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of HVAC systems in new construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement schedules to meet production demands and ensure successful completion of inspections in assigned communities.
- Collaborate with builders, inspectors, and construction managers to ensure the successful completion of homes in assigned communities.
- Coordinate and schedule the work activities of installation crews and punch mechanics to deliver instructions and work assignments as appropriate.
- Regularly inspect work for quality, completeness, and timeliness; prepare and provide progress reports for Builders, Field Managers, and the Operations Manager, and make recommendations for necessary corrections.
- Able to perform punch work to help move houses to inspection.
- Collaborate with Builders and Construction Managers and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, Code, and Zoning requirements are met.
- Ensure correct equipment locations, duct layouts, and duct sizing are followed, and refrigerant line sets and gas lines are installed properly and in the locations specified by the builder.
- Coordinate EPO work requests and quoted charges with the appropriate construction administrator to ensure approval is received from the builder and then work is completed.
- Balance work between home sites and communities to ensure all builders and schedules are being met and inspections are called in a timely manner.
- Address any safety violations or other deficiencies and issue safety violations as needed.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
- Extremely detail-oriented.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute HVAC equipment installation instructions, duct layouts, shop drawings, and plans.
- Thorough understanding of HVAC Installation and industry best practices.
- Thorough understanding of HVAC single-family new construction code requirements, sequence, and timing of inspections and quality inspections.
- Ability to effectively manage, train, and mentor installation crews and punch mechanics.
- Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
- Three years of supervisory experience working in the HVAC trade (Install or Service) required.
- Prefer 5+ experience in the field as an HVAC/Electrical tradesman.
- Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
- Must be able to speak English and hear to communicate.
- Must be able to use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
- Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders, and stairways, and occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding, using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, gloves, and safety toe, construction-grade work boots.
