A Typical Day

The Chemistry Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing physical testing, ensuring the timely and accurate flow of information to plant staff and customer service. They maintain files, enter results into the database, interpret results, and initiate endpoint testing as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Learn and efficiently perform lab tests, including those initiated in the future.
  • Perform assigned chemistry analysis on in-process, finished product, and project samples.
  • Read, study, understand, and implement published lab procedures and tasks.
  • Be flexible and able to perform multiple test steps at once.
  • Work with minimal supervision and assume duties without being asked.
  • Solve problems on an independent basis and report results.
  • Follow instructions completely and in detail.
  • Comply with quarterly proficiency studies and quality control programs.
  • Work independently and maintain professional standards during peak periods.
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal customers.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 4 months lab or production experience.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency on position-specific needs analysis requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency on daily repeatability studies.
  • Must be open to working weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or related field.
  • Intermediate experience in SAP.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
