About the RoleAs an Electrical Engineering Co-op/Intern, you will assist the engineering department with product and R&D related projects. You will work on specialized compressor and refrigeration devices, and their associated components. The products involve electro-mechanical devices/systems, which require solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, metal/plastic components, pressure vessel components, and piping/valve pressure components. You will also work on electrical systems, including temperature, pressure, flow, power measuring devices, microprocessor-based controllers, power devices, and circuits, and communication devices and protocols.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical and electro-mechanical components and systems
- Research and identify vendors for specific components and designs
- Lead vendor searches and technical investigations
- Develop specifications for products and components
- Modify and produce manufacturing, QA, and engineering procedures
- Author technical reports
- Analyze system, power, control circuit, logic, and program
- Design electrical/instrumentation fixtures
- Develop test plans
- Setup and perform laboratory tests
- Assist with system and component tests
We are looking for a candidate with a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering, preferably in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year. A GPA of 2.8 or higher is required. The candidate should have hands-on skills with tools, devices, and equipment, as well as experience working in a shop environment. Strong technical, electrical aptitude, and organizational skills are essential. The candidate should be able to analyze and resolve problems, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
LocationThe position will be based at our Allentown office, located at 1833 Vultee Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
