Capital Area Pediatrics is dedicated to providing exceptional pediatric healthcare services to families across multiple locations. We are seeking a full-time Healthcare Billing Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This role is based at our Central Business Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily charge entry tasks as assigned, adhering to productivity standards.
- Provide support and assistance to fellow billing department personnel as needed.
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Analyze provider documentation to ensure proper coding with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Extract pertinent information from patient records for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to clarify necessary information.
- Conduct chart audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Offer guidance and training to physicians and staff regarding medical coding practices.
- Ensure adherence to medical coding regulations and standards.
- Assist in the credentialing process as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing and collections.
- Familiarity with credentialing processes is preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly Athena, is advantageous.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
