Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high availability solutions using Oracle RAC, Golden Gate, and Dataguard
  • Manage and administer large database estates, including TB-sized databases
  • Install, configure, and maintain multiple versions of Oracle databases on various Unix platforms and Windows servers
  • Plan and execute major migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss
  • Define and configure disk and diskgroups in ASM, and troubleshoot database issues
  • Manage and administer databases on Exadata machines, ensuring optimal performance and security
  • Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability
  • Coordinate with database vendors to resolve major incidents and ensure timely resolution
  • Develop and maintain shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL skills to automate database tasks and improve efficiency
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical application databases, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss
Requirements
  • Strong database administration skills, with experience in Oracle RAC, Golden Gate, and Dataguard
  • Experience with database upgrades on multiple versions and releases
  • Knowledge of high availability solutions, disaster recovery design, and planning
  • Experience with automation tools, such as scripting and Oracle Grid Control
  • Strong performance analysis skills, with experience in AWR, ADDM, SQL Profile, ASH, and advisory views
  • Experience with OS, storage, network, and virtualization activities
  • Certification in Oracle Database Administration
