About the Role

Oscar Health is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) II to join our Quality Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing a state-of-the-art automation framework for multiple UI applications, including Web, Mobile, API, RDMS, and BI.

You will work closely with engineers and product managers to understand foundational gaps in testability of our digital member experiences. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving prioritization of technical roadmap and influencing prioritization of product roadmap and process enhancements within your team.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation test frameworks for enterprise-level applications
  • Lead the planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects
  • Collaborate with engineering partners, product managers, and designers to review system requirements and technical design documents
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on automation testing best practices
  • Independently responsible for creating, designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks and test scripts
  • Facilitate cross-team execution and collaboration, identifying and reducing failure domains
  • Build software to minimize effort and business impact during maintenance and failures
  • Guide the development of Service-Level Objectives (SLOs) for systems you are responsible for
  • Own medium to large features or infrastructure projects from technical design through completion
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with increasingly impactful accomplishments
  • 6+ years of experience designing and developing automation test frameworks for enterprise-level applications
  • 6+ years of experience with automation frameworks testing Web Apps, Mobile Apps, API's, using frameworks such as Selenium, Xcode UI tests, and Appium
  • 6+ years of experience in contract/API/performance/load testing
  • Experience as a major contributor to cross-pod or cross-company deliverables
  • Experience leading technical contributions, improving the quality of what your teams create, and building fault-tolerant and scalable software systems
  • Demonstrates expertise in the practical application of CS concepts within their team
  • Sets and enforces the standard for writing stable, correct, and maintainable code
  • Experience mentoring and training more junior engineers
