Position Summary:
The Automation Technician is responsible for the routine upkeep of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) and conveyor/sortation equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing preventative maintenance on various equipment, including trash compactors, balers, emergency lighting, and stretch wrappers.
- Managing work orders through eMaint.
- Estimating labor and material costs for repairs.
- Collaborating with external vendors and suppliers.
- Reviewing and estimating design costs, labor, materials, and other related expenses for facility planning.
- Ensuring compliance with company facility standards.
- Researching and proposing enhancements to operational efficiencies with a focus on environmental sustainability.
- Possibly working with specialized external contractors.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (a two-year college degree is preferred but not mandatory).
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally at a senior level.
- 70e certification.
- Familiarity with Exacta is advantageous.
Skills and Attributes:
The Automation Technician should be a seasoned individual contributor who can operate with limited supervision in routine situations. The role requires:
- Analytical skills to address non-routine problems.
- Ability to make minor adjustments to working methods.
- Capability to explain practices and procedures to reach consensus with external parties.
- Experience in providing senior-level administrative or technical support.
- Potential to act as a mentor to junior technical staff.
- Independence in determining methods and procedures for new assignments.
Compensation:
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $45,000 to $72,000 annually. The specific compensation will depend on factors such as work location, pay grade, and individual performance.
