Job Description:

As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department.

Customer Experience:

  • Engage with customers and patients, providing assistance with products and services, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with colleagues to maintain a high level of service excellence.

Operations:

  • Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, adhering to state, federal, and company policies.
  • Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information.

Responsibilities:

  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.

Requirements:

  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access information online).
