Academic Support Coach

Position Title: Academic Support Coach
Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: Academy Director
Employment Type: This position is full-time and funded through Title 1 funds. Employment is contingent on the yearly categorical allocation of federal funds.
Job Expectations
The Academic Support Coach serves as the School Counselor, designing and delivering school counseling programs that improve student outcomes. They lead, advocate, and collaborate to promote equity and access for all students by connecting their school counseling program to the school's academic mission and school improvement plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) to support students' academic and personal growth.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students, including instruction, appraisal, and advisement.
- Collaborate with content coaches to develop and implement competency-based blended curriculum.
- Monitor student progress, assign academic interventions, and support on-time course completions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to support students' non-academic needs.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of Google Workspace, Mobile Technologies, Learning Management Systems, and Student Information Systems.
- Prior experience as a school professional counselor or other related education field.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting youth who have disengaged from traditional school settings.
- Experience working in non-traditional school settings and/or with youth who may be considered at-risk.
