Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and oversee a comprehensive newscast, which encompasses story selection, scriptwriting, graphic creation, video editing, and collaboration with reporters and management.
  • Producers will also be trained in digital production tasks, including crafting content for online and social media channels, managing news and weather applications, dispatching alerts, and operating our streaming platform.
  • Accountable for managing the newscast flow, ensuring timing is maintained, and making real-time adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with fellow producers during significant events and breaking news situations.
  • Provide support for other newscasts as directed by management.
Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a broadcast producer in a collegiate or professional newsroom setting is essential.
  • Outstanding writing capabilities in both broadcast and AP styles.
  • Proficient video editing skills.
  • Solid understanding of journalistic ethics and responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A degree in broadcast journalism or a related discipline is preferred.
