Job Summary

US Oncology, Inc. is seeking a skilled LPN to support our offices in Newport News and Hampton. As a LPN Ambulatory Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with injections, pap smears, biopsies, and LEEP procedures.
Prepare lab specimens for send out.
Assess patients for changes in condition, including abnormal labs, x-rays, and scans.
Set up procedures, referrals, and obtain prior authorization.
Obtain pathology reports, manage faxes, and return patient phone calls.
Maintain efficient patient flow and document all elements of care.
Serve as a resource to Medical Assistants and communicate pertinent information to the physician, nurse, or advanced practice provider.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent and a graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing.
Minimum of two years-experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting preferred but not required.
Current CPR certification required.
Ability to travel between offices when needed.
