As a Senior Global Facilities Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional engineering services and specifications for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of specialized Facilities systems that support semiconductor manufacturing across our global network. Your expertise will be essential in capacity and scenario planning, evaluating the impact of modifications across the network. In this capacity, you will serve as a key authority for the Facilities Teams and Manufacturing sites throughout all phases of design, construction, installation, start-up, operations, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, regulatory, and code standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop systems and structures that prioritize safety and maintenance.
  • Establish, review, and uphold equipment and component specifications and standards for the organization.
  • Verify material compatibility and adherence to applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Analyze capacity planning databases to validate utilization and diversity factor assumptions.
  • Guide sites on periodic system status evaluations, including capacity, actual load, and projected loads based on approved scenarios.
  • Assist sites in assessing system and distribution capacity impacts due to scenario changes.
  • Review and provide insights on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for infrastructure enhancements or modifications.

Project Support:

  • Deliver Micron specifications and standards to design firms while reviewing detailed designs and specifications for new facilities infrastructure installations.
  • Support cost and schedule estimates, providing justifications for approval.
  • Oversee and coordinate consultant resources as necessary.
  • Facilitate effective communication with local Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement, and manufacturing partners to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure timely review of design packages, providing documented feedback as required.
  • Collaborate with relevant personnel to resolve issues or implement corrections.
  • Confirm that project scope aligns with customer and requestor needs.
  • Adhere to organizational change procedures.
  • Monitor progress and offer engineering and design support during construction as needed.

Technical Support and Leadership:

  • Provide expert consultation and support to Operations, Maintenance, and Manufacturing as the Technical Team Authority.
  • Evaluate system designs to identify enhancements that yield improved performance, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Assist sites with problem analysis using standardized tools and methodologies.
  • Offer technical leadership and support to the Procurement group regarding vendor qualifications, selection, and negotiations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and failure mode analyses.
  • Mitigate risks by eliminating single points of failure.
  • Benchmark best practices in Engineering and Design for Facilities buildings and systems.
  • Develop and maintain Global System Standards, Specifications, and Best Known Method (BKM) documents in your area of expertise.
  • Stay informed on technological advancements and innovations relevant to your field.
  • Maintain knowledge of system and equipment support protocols.
