Job Description

We are seeking an Electronics Technician to join our team at Insight Global. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for test, repair, and support of Digital and RF Cable System monitoring products. Your duties will include troubleshooting and supporting the use of production electronic test equipment, as well as diagnosing circuit problems to component level.

Responsibilities

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic circuits of Digital and RF Cable System monitoring products down to the component level.
  • Change Through-Hole and Surface Mount components, including high density and BGA Integrated Circuits.
  • Determine repair charges for devices out of warranty.
  • Data entry of product repair database, with possible database maintenance using MS Access experience.
  • Use the repair tracking data to recommend electronic and mechanical improvements to product design.
  • Support manufacturing operations and personnel, as necessary, and support off-site contract manufacturers.
  • Troubleshoot and support the use of production electronic test equipment.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree, Trade School Certification, or 4+ years of work experience.
  • Experience working on component level repairs of surface mounts.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering and desoldering.
  • Experience providing manufacturing support.
  • SMT/BGA component replacement experience.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
