Job Description

Revolution Workshop is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Director to lead the financial management of the organization. As a key member of the leadership team, the Finance Director will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, and providing insights to support the mission and goals of Revolution Workshop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner to the Executive Director and other members of the leadership team.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
  • Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Executive Director, administering and reviewing all financial plans and budgets.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices, responsible for the finance department's overall policy and procedure manual.
  • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the board of directors.
  • Oversee the accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings.
Grant Funding
  • Submit all monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports to funders.
  • Manage fiscal responsibilities of all grants to ensure contract compliance, reports, budget submission, and budget modifications.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with fiscal point of contact for each funder.
  • Respond to inquiries from grantors.
Organizational Leadership
  • Participate in the strategic vision and planning of organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with departmental leads to develop annual budgets.
  • Work with board and committee members to keep them updated on organizational financial health.
  • Uphold the values of Revolution Workshop.
  • Provide supervision to the Finance Coordinator.

Work Environment: This position is performed in a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or CPA preferred. At least five years of experience in accounting and finance. At least three years of supervisory experience. Nonprofit finance experience preferred. Excellent computer skills, including Google G Suite and Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Detail-oriented. Takes initiative, able to anticipate program needs. Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills. Recognize and respond to emerging priorities, allow for flexibility in your schedule.
