The Cardiovascular Technologist I utilizes the patient care process to ensure safe and competent quality patient care. The role involves assisting in all procedures performed in the invasive cardiology area and supporting the medical care of patients requiring cardiac or peripheral catheterization and/or intervention under the direction of the medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in cardiac diagnostic, interventional, and invasive radiology procedures
  • Provide professional patient care and support
  • Assist in procedures performed in the invasive cardiology area
  • Support the medical care of patients requiring cardiac or peripheral catheterization and/or intervention

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Sciences or Allied Health Science program required
  • Minimum of one to three years experience in Cardiac Catheterization procedures preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Cardiac Anatomy and EKG rhythms required
  • Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT) certification through the Texas Medical Board required
  • Registry from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCIS) required
  • Limited Medical Radiological Technologist (LMRT) eligibility or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) eligibility required
  • BLS for Healthcare Worker required
  • ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-Westover Hills is a 150-bed hospital serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio. The hospital offers specialized care, including orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women's services, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular care, and more.
