About the Role

Ashland Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to lead our team in a fast-paced environment. As a Veterinary Technician Leader, you will be responsible for promoting a healthy spirit of teamwork, overseeing daily workflow, and ensuring proper staffing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the technician team by promoting and maintaining a healthy spirit of teamwork
  • Oversee the daily workflow in regard to procedures as well as appointments, including the assigning of technicians to specific responsibilities
  • Work with Hospital Manager in overseeing daily and weekly schedules to ensure proper staffing
  • Perform all skills of an exam room technician and surgical technician
  • Support and enforce established hospital policies and procedures, especially when handling client concerns and complaints
  • Onboard and train new veterinary technician team members
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of veterinary leadership experience
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, fellow team members, and management
  • Client education and communication skills that convey recommendations to clients in an easily understandable and professional manner
  • Maintaining a positive, supportive approach at all times
  • Responding to the pressure of a fast-paced environment with dignity and professionalism
  • Team leadership and motivation
  • The confidence to own tasks and responsibilities, and deliver positive outcomes
