Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead municipal engineering services on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Newark, NJ. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, preferably with experience in infrastructure projects and the municipal sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a variety of projects, including those for municipalities, counties, and authorities, such as subdivision and land development reviews, road rehabilitation, stormwater management, capital improvements, and grant writing.
  • Oversee the review of applications before planning, zoning, and/or land-use boards.
  • Coordinate master planning-related tasks and serve as a Municipal Engineer and Board Engineer.
  • Prepare proposals and budget estimates, and supervise staff in the design of engineering projects, including roadways, drainage, water, wastewater, and site development.
  • Provide mentorship to staff members and assist Upper Management with the development and growth of Municipal Engineering Services for the office.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • 12+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with infrastructure projects and the municipal sector.
  • PE license in NJ.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) credential is preferred.
  • Management and/or Project Management experience, with a proven ability to manage multi-discipline projects.
  • Advanced expertise working with design and permitting activities, including experience with engineering tools such as CADD, GIS, and analytical programs.
  • Experience working on wet utility projects, water resources, and engineering tools such as HydroCAD, InfoSWWM, and OpenFlows WaterCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
