The Advanced Practice Provider, Blood Cancers, Transplant & Cellular Therapy (Inpatient) is a critical role that requires expertise in providing care to patients with hematological malignancies. This position is primarily focused on the inpatient BMT department, where the provider will work in collaboration with a physician to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
- Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures.
- Collaborate in research projects and protocols, and apply evidence-based best practices to patient care.
- Master's degree or higher in nursing, with documentation of completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
- Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
- One year (1) of hematology oncology experience, including bone marrow biopsies, chemotherapy, etc.
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing, and authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Acute Care Certification required.
