Position Overview:

As a Margin Manager, you will be accountable for optimizing the company's profitability.

This role requires extensive collaboration with various internal departments, including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Warehouse Operations, Senior Management, Corporate staff, vendors, and other Margin Managers within the Performance Food Group.

Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with vendors, brokers, sales, and purchasing teams, alongside effective organizational and time management abilities to excel in this position.

As a collaborative team member, you will undertake any assigned tasks that contribute to the company's success.


Key Responsibilities:
Manage sales margins (GP percentage, dollar amounts, dollars per case, and dollars by drop) across different segments, including company, salesperson, and customer.

Develop profit model reports and conduct financial analyses. Scrutinize daily orders for cost inaccuracies or pricing errors, identifying factors contributing to negative margins. Assess National Account margin trends for precision and reliability. Oversee product costs and pricing by category to ensure profit targets are achieved. Provide recommendations to Sales Management regarding necessary adjustments to enhance margins; analyze PAD and zone pricing. Collaborate with the Sales team to drive sales growth, investigate cost/margin fluctuations, and manage pricing discrepancies.

Evaluate bid items for contract adherence and compliance to maximize margins. Ensure bid cost accuracy and date range before executing the calculation and roll process. Partner with the corporate BSC team to investigate all OpCo payback requests.


Proactively support the customer bidding process (including educational institutions) utilizing the profit model to assess the full EBITDA impact if contracts are awarded.

Establish a model to monitor customer purchasing behaviors and margin trends to validate case/sales volume and margin forecasts related to new business and all customer incentive initiatives.

Assess and engage with Senior Management regarding the approval of customer rebate and discount programs, providing insights on the impact of these programs on margins.

Coordinate with the Procurement team to enhance revenue through inventory cost adjustments, aged inventory management, etc. Collaborate with the Procurement team to implement best practices for cost management.

Oversee and manage Bid Department processes and personnel. Mentor and develop Contract Coordinators.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.
