Position Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that our property is kept in optimal condition, minimizing disruptions for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs on the hotel's air conditioning systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacements.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment, such as boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and record necessary equipment readings.
  • Test and maintain cooling towers, documenting all findings.
  • Manage the replacement and programming of televisions as required.
  • Replace light switches, outlets, bulbs, and fixtures as needed.
  • Execute furniture repairs and maintain aesthetic standards.
  • Oversee the replacement and repair of pumps.
  • Address plumbing issues, including clogged drains and pipe repairs.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Trace and repair various water lines.
  • Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment as necessary.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes in all maintenance work.
  • Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
  • Paint designated areas as required.
  • Repair and finish drywall and wall coverings.
  • Maintain and program the hotel’s electronic lock systems.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of progressive experience in a hotel or similar environment is preferred.
  • Trade school or college coursework in a related field is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work long hours as needed.
  • Ability to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally and over 50 pounds frequently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with all levels of staff and guests in a courteous manner.
  • Effective listening skills to understand and address concerns from guests and employees.
  • Capability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Comply with company standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex information from various sources.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate initiative by anticipating the needs of guests and operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Hourly Rate: Approximately $21-23/hour
