Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic 2 (MM2) position is responsible for conducting machine setup, repairs, and preventive maintenance service. This role requires providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment that promotes work safety and product integrity.
  • Follow all Safety, HACCP & GMP requirements at all times.
  • Be adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Be willing to be flexible to accommodate changing business conditions.
  • Ensure cleanliness around facility, freezer, and production area.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Assemble production machinery, including setting and aligning bearings, shafts, belts, gears, sprockets, chain, and knives.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Perform metal working, including cutting, grinding, and drilling.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Be able to complete forklift certification.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment.
  • 2+ years of related experience in packing machines/production machines.
  • Will report to the Maintenance Manager.
