About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Editorial Director to join our team at NESN LTD. This is a full-time position based in Pennsylvania, USA, with an estimated annual salary of $105,000 - $130,000.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of progressively complex editorial experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. A BA/BS in Communications-related field is required.

As an Editorial Director, you will assist in the development and oversee the execution of NESN's editorial strategy. You will lead discussions related to NESN's short- and long-term content objectives and collaborate with other Content department leads and cross-functional partners to identify and pursue potential growth opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assists Lead Editor in development and oversees execution of NESN's editorial strategy
  • Analyzes, plans, produces, and optimizes content for SportsNetPittsburgh.com (and other platforms as necessary), with an eye toward audience growth and engagement
  • Leads discussions related to NESN's short- and long-term content objectives
  • Leads a team of less-experienced writers/freelancers, fostering a creative and collaborative environment wherein the requisite knowledge is captured and acted upon to improve outcomes for the department and the company
  • Creates and maintains standard operating procedures
  • Works with various stakeholders to ensure creative/business alignment
