Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Therapist/Counselor to join our team at Start of A Better Tomorrow. As a Clinical Therapist/Counselor, you will be responsible for providing face-to-face diagnostic assessments, individual and group therapy, and case management services for clients. This role will utilize basic clinical interventions to support client efforts toward sobriety, coping with symptoms of depression and anxiety, safe lifestyle, healthy socialization, suicide prevention, occupational and academic success, individual and family restoration, and overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide diagnostic assessments for adults, teens, and children using the DSM-5.
  2. Develop and implement individual, group, and family psychotherapy interventions.
  3. Conduct client visits in agency offices, community agencies, schools, facilities, and private homes.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records for all clients.
  5. Meet productivity goals and manage caseload effectively.
  6. Stay current with community resources and referrals for client support.
  7. Document clinical information in the EHR system.
  8. Perform job duties in a manner that aligns with the agency's Mission, Vision, Patient Care Philosophy, Professional Standards, and Ethical Conduct.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
  2. Active license to practice as a Social Worker/Counselor in Ohio (LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC-S, PC, PCC, or PCC-S).
  3. 2+ years of experience working with the behavioral health or substance use disorder patient population.
  4. Knowledge of multiple clinical modalities, theory, and principles of human behavior, social work theory, and practice.
  5. Ability to maintain a valid Ohio or Michigan driver's license, good driving record, adequate insurance, and willingness to use personal car for job duties.
  6. Strong organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Impeccable integrity, judgment, and professionalism.
Physical Requirements
  1. Standing: Maintaining an upright position on the feet, especially for prolonged periods.
  2. Pushing: Applying pressure and exertion against an object for the purpose of moving it forward or away from the source of the force.
  3. Lifting: Raising an object from a lower to a higher position, or moving an object laterally, from position to position.
  4. Stooping: Bending the body forward and down from the waist, hips, and knees, sometimes for a prolonged length of time.
  5. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction away from the body.
  6. Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
