Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Counselor II to join our team at the State of Maine. As a key member of our workforce development team, you will play a critical role in providing vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain counseling relationships with clients, providing personalized support and guidance to help them overcome barriers to employment.
  • Collaborate with schools, employers, and community partners to develop and implement effective rehabilitation plans.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify client needs and develop strategies for successful employment outcomes.
  • Provide training and education to clients on job search skills, resume building, and interview preparation.
  • Work with clients to develop and implement job placement plans, including job coaching and follow-up support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field, demonstrating knowledge and skills in assisting individuals with disabilities, employers, and other stakeholders with their employment and workforce needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and build strong relationships with clients, employers, and community partners.
