Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Shelbyville, KY. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens from patients using established procedures and protocols.
  • Administer oral solutions to patients as required.
  • Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  • Enter data accurately and efficiently using a computer.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory management, supply ordering, and filing.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
  • Maintain accurate phlebotomy logs and complete online and in-person training courses.
Requirements
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
