We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Shelbyville Hospital.

Location: 727 Hospital Drive, Shelbyville, KY 40065

Shift Options: PRN

Job Summary:

The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, transporting them to the laboratory, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients using aseptic techniques
  • Transport specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner
  • Enter patient orders accurately in Hospital and Laboratory Information Systems
  • Monitor specimen integrity and ensure accurate documentation
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in continuing education programs to upgrade skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CPR certification through American Heart Association
